Do You Use Technology with Your Children?

Hi, Friends!

Just a quick note to say that I entered the iLearnWith blogger contest and submitted a short article on whether or not I think technology should be used in early education. Some of you have already shared your amazing stories with me on Facebook about using technology in your classrooms and I am so impressed. I wonder what you parents think about using technology with your young children?

I was limited to 400 words, but I wanted to share some other tech devices I have used with my kids and that I think can be great tools for learning, provided they are used in moderation. One of my favorites is the LeapFrog Tag Reader. Some of the activity kits that go with it are fabulous, like the LeapFrog Tag Solar System Adventure Pack, which I mentioned today on NBC Latino.

We have also used the Leapster (we have the original, not the fancy new one) to help my kids learn letter recognition and simple math.

Of course, I prefer for my kids to spend the majority of their time outdoors or reading or playing other games, but with careful monitoring, technology has found an important role in my children's education.

Un abrazo!
