Your Mission: To Learn the Greek Alphabet

If you have a budding bilingual detective in your house, then this book is for you. Exploring language is fun on its own, but when it involves a mystery and secret codes, the fun factor explodes exponentially!

My six-year-old is fascinated by the Greek Alphabet Code Cracker book...but to be honest, so am I. Really, I think a person of any age would enjoy it.

I love it because it is SO interactive. In fact, the book also comes with an online component. You go to the link provided in the book, type in your code name and password, and you then have access to exercise pages, charts, and audio files/songs to help your child learn the Greek alphabet! The reader must use all these with the book to discover the identity of the thief who stole the famous Grecian Urn of Achilles and trace their escape route.

The back of the book comes with a Code Cracker Cypher Wheel (see picture below) for you to cut out and assemble. (We made a copy on cardstock and it works great!) Then your child can use it to crack the codes that provide the clues for solving the case. My son prefers to keep a folder with all the color copies, scraps of paper, and his code cracker so that none of them get lost.

But beware: Reading this book is addicting and before you know it, you'll be singing the Greek alphabet, too!

Enjoy!
